Our story

It started at a
kitchen table.

Fort Wayne Roofing began in 1986 with a vision to build a roofing company centered on quality, strong relationships, and doing business the right way. 40 years later that is still the whole business plan.

Grown one relationship at a time.

Four moments that explain how a kitchen-table company became the roofer on a large share of Fort Wayne's institutional buildings.

  1. 1986

It started at a kitchen table

Fort Wayne Roofing was created in Fort Wayne, Indiana with a simple vision: build a company people could trust, and grow it one relationship at a time.

One roof, two halves: the old ballasted membrane still under tires on the left, the new insulation and membrane going down on the right.

  2. 1990s–2010s

    Growing with Fort Wayne

Over the next several decades, Fort Wayne Roofing grew alongside the community — serving schools, businesses, industrial facilities, churches, and commercial properties throughout the region.

  3. 2018

    Joining Tecta America

Fort Wayne Roofing was acquired by Tecta America, the nation's largest commercial roofing contractor. The partnership brought national resources, technical expertise, and expanded capabilities while allowing Fort Wayne Roofing to remain rooted in the community it had served for decades.

  4. Today

    Local roots. National strength.

Today, Fort Wayne Roofing continues to serve Fort Wayne and the surrounding region with a full range of commercial roofing services — and, for the first time, residential roofing — backed by the strength and resources of Tecta America.

How we operate

Four things that haven't changed.

01

Do it the right way

The vision at that kitchen table in 1986 was a roofing company that did business the right way. Forty years later that's still the only standard that matters — on a $2 million school re-roof or a $600 flashing repair.

02

Relationships over transactions

We grew one relationship at a time, and most of our work still comes from buildings we've maintained for years. That's a deliberate business model, not an accident.

03

Local decisions, national depth

The person who quotes your roof works on Ardmore Avenue. The resources standing behind that quote span more than 100 Tecta America locations nationwide.

04

Everyone goes home

Roofing is one of the most dangerous trades in construction. Safety planning, fall protection, and daily site discipline aren't overhead here — they're the job.

Local roots. National strength.

The people are from here.
The resources aren't limited to here.

In 2018 Fort Wayne Roofing joined Tecta America — the largest commercial roofing contractor in the United States. Nothing about who answers the phone changed. What changed is what stands behind the answer.

Where we are

4320 Ardmore Ave.

We have had an office in Fort Wayne since the company started in 1986; the Ardmore Avenue shop has been home since the mid-2000s. That matters less for marketing than it does for the thing that actually counts — how long it takes us to get to your building when water is coming in.
